7.5" Wootz K-tip

$1,000.00

This K-tip chef knife is designed as an excellent “work horse” in the kitchen. It is a robust knife, both in the blade and the handle, but it will still be excellent for more delicate tasks. The only task I would not suggest for this knife, and this is true of all my wootz chefs, is cutting bone. My wootz chefs are quite hard and have thin edges, characteristics that make for good edge retention and easy cutting…but are not great for cutting bone or other hard materials. I am particularly pleased with the direction the wootz pattern took in this blade; it is not a lamellar (watered) pattern, but the contrast and activity are excellent.

The bolster is made from my own Nickel-Copper mokume, which I have tapered toward the blade for a more comfortable “pinch grip”. The handle is pheasantwood and amboyna burl.

Overall Length: 345mm
