This small kard is forged from a wootz ingot that falls within the historical averages but does not follow a specific regional chemistry. It contains only trace amounts of phosphorus, so has been heat treated to perform much like modern knives. The patterning on this kard is more subtle than on the other kard forged out at the same time and from the same bar, which demonstrates just how sensitive the wootz patterning is to forging technique.
