Historically-inspired Seax/Bowie

$1,850.00

This 11” Seax-style knife is forged from my own 15n20/1080 damascus steel in a mosaic pattern that you will see nowhere else. These pattern is only possible because of my extensive research and experience in metallurgy.

The hilt is both comfortable and visually striking, definitely conveying the Medieval feel that I was aiming for. The wood is stabilized Milo, a tree that is native to Hawai’i, while the wrought iron fittings are forged from material I salvaged from a fence project over two decades ago. The tang passes entirely through the hilt and is peined over on the pommel.

The scabbard is made from curly koa, and the interior is lined with leather. The tooled leather straps culminate in forged wrought iron rings.

Pricing on this knife is lower than normal due to the epoxy foaming slightly during the final assembly. This does not affect the structure or performance of the knife, but it means that the fit-up of the handle pieces is not quite as clean as it should have been. As you can see in the pictures the imperfections are minor but still present, so I am offering this piece at a reduced price.
