This small kard is forged from a wootz ingot that falls within the historical averages but does not follow a specific regional chemistry. It does, however, contains a sufficient amount of phosphorus that it has been heat treated in a modified manner that yields a tougher, somewhat softer blade; blades treated in this fashion typically have an edge hardness of around 51HRC and are incredibly tough. I have made this with a reinforced tip for improved penetrating capabilities.

The handle has been left “as-forged” except for a few small touches of the grinder to improve the aesthetics of the profile. The forged surface provides just enough texture for a sure grip without feeling abrasive in the hand.
