Damascus dagger and L6 combat knife, both with a “Templar” theme as requested by the customer. The dagger has maple stump wood for the handle, while the combat knife is handled with canvas micarta.

The damascus dadao is my own modification of the traditional Chinese War Sword design, and is the sword that I used when I competed on “Knife or Death”. The second is a more traditional and more utilitarian version made from 5160.

The first is a san-mai construction with 1095 core and jelly-roll damascus cladding. This has a bronze bolster and white tail antler handle. The second is wootz with copper and paracord wrap.

Carved brass fittings complement the stained mahogany and damascus blade on this astonishingly light jian. It comes in at just over 2 pounds, which is astonishing for a sword that is basically 40” overall length.

Katars, Indian Punch Daggers, typically have a single blade, but for this one I went a little crazy and went with a matched pair of blades in 5160.

This massive, serrated version of Zulfiqar has a 36” blade and is essentially 48” overall length. The blade is 5160, and the handle is leather over wood with a twisted wire accent.

The heart-shaped pendant was made from the remnant of a sword project while the other is inlayed with silver wire.

Damascus jian with bubinga and inlayed bronze fittings. Michael Coffey did the carving and inlay on the guard and pommel, while I did the remainder of the work.

Two kiridashis made from sword remnants. These make a good way to use material efficiently while also providing a quick look at the eventual pattern. Kiridashis were originally used as an accurate marking tool by Japanese woodworkers, but have evolved into a more broadly used small knife.

A custom order by a chef in Seattle, this “fish slicer” yanagiba was specifically designed with a damascus pattern that mimicked the curl of the maple.
